In his Notes from the President, President Wayne Lee mentions the complete overhaul of the Society’s public presence that will roll out in the coming months. About two years ago, I had approached Executive Director Kyle Longley about how best to plan for me to step away from managing the SMH web site and Headquarters Gazette newsletter. I have been running the web site since 1998 and editing the newsletter since 2000, and it’s time for a change. I’m grateful to both Kyle and Wayne for the way that they have engaged the SMH council in tackling this transition, and I am excited about how they have positioned the Society for the future. Dave Kieran and the new Marketing and Communications committee will implement a more integrated approach to the Society’s public presence that will serve us all well.
I thank you for the privilege of working with so many of you over the years, and I look forward to seeing where this transition takes us next.
